Houses

I'm very interested in houses lately. Especially old classic buildings.
All the little details, ornaments, and just the evidence of decay, that it has been there all this time. I love it.

I've been to Italy past summer and I made dozens of photos of little houses, stained old walls, little balconies, the flowers on each balcony, the swing doors for the windows, the curled street lights, the little doors and windows (there's a home hidden in every corner), the arches shadowing the tiny streets.. I can go on and on and on.

I've also been to Luxemburg and my interest in houses also lies in city centre buildings, still they're classic, but you can't see the decay aswell as in Italy.
And I've seen Perfume; the story of a murderer a week ago, and I just loved the backgrounds! Especially the bridge with all the houses on it, above the Seine river, in Paris. I loved the artwork on that one. It's absolutely stunning.

All the above made me want to draw houses and I just tried. Especially the bridge of Perfume gave me inspiration. But I wanted to add asymmetrical and lopsided houses. I love sloppiness when it's on purpose. So I ended up with this, and I kinda like it a lot. I definitely want to make more of this... If I would make more with the same theme, I thought, I could even make a tiny exhibition. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
